Oregon AFSCME Condemns Violence By Federal ICE Agents

Oregon AFSCME stands firm in our belief that violence in any form has no place in our communities, and condemn the abusive and undemocratic actions by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement Officers in Portland, Minneapolis and across the country. It should not have to be said that the role of law enforcement is to provide safety and security, ICE agents are doing the exact opposite in communities across the country.

We have faith the Oregon Department of Justice will conduct a thorough investigation, without relying on political rhetoric or unfounded claims before the facts are in.

We will continue to fight for the rights and well-being of all working people, regardless of their national origin or individual identities and beliefs because we are stronger when we stand together.
