APANO- Mutual Aid Volunteer Form

This list is being compiled by APANO to share with
groups and community based organizations that
are doing mutual aid work around COVID-19 for our
neighbors within and adjacent to the Jade District.
The Jade District is a neighborhood in SE Portland at the intersection of SE 82nd Ave. and SE Division St. We will not use or share the information you provide for any other purpose.

(Note: Risks and best practices will be discussed before any work is done. People over 50 and people with underlying conditions should be especially cautious in these times, so this option will not be right for everyone. Please do whatever you must to remain well.)

Meals on WheelsVolunteers are the heart and soul of Meals on Wheels People and we depend on more than 400 people every day to help prepare meals and deliver meals to participants.
Pick up for meal deliveries is Monday-Friday between 10am and 12pm. Delivery routes take about 1.5 hours to complete.

Transition ProjectsTransition Projects provides individuals with the services, resources and tools they need to end their homelessness, secure housing, and maintain that housing.

-Each year, we assist more than 10,000 people
experiencing homelessness.
-On any given day, we help meet the basic needs of nearly
500 people through our Resource Center.
-On any given night, we provide a safe
place to sleep for more than 800 people with
nowhere else to turn.
-In any given year, we help place more than 1,000 people into affordable housing - and then support them in retaining that housing.
Whenever and wherever we can, we advocate for policies and initiatives that affirm the right of all people to a place they can call home.

Salvation ArmyWe're all in this together. The Salvation Army is working with local, state, and federal government and health authorities, including participating in situation awareness calls with federal partners like FEMA, CDC, DHS, and HHS.

We anticipate a significant increase in need of emergency assistance for low-wage employees facing layoffs due to COVID-19. The support we provide – rent/mortgage, utility, and food assistance, among others – will become more urgent as the situation evolves.

We need your support so your local facilities can continue to meet the daily needs of these vulnerable populations.

Oregon Office of Emergency ManagementOn March 8, 2020, Gov. Kate Brown declared a state of emergency to address the spread of COVID-19 in Oregon. This declaration gives the Governor authority to direct state agencies to use and employ state personnel, equipment, and facilities for activities designated to prevent or alleviate actual or threatened damage due to the emergency.

In response to the declaration, the Office of Emergency Management (OEM) mobilized the state Emergency Coordination Center (ECC) to coordinate and support state and local recovery efforts. The ECC is collaborating with the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) and its Agency Operations Center (AOC).

OHA serves as the lead agency for public health response efforts and the ECC is focused on minimizing any disruption to critical services in Oregon.

Food for Lane County

FOOD for Lane County is a private, 501(c)(3) nonprofit food bank founded in 1984 and dedicated to reducing hunger by engaging our community to create access to food.

We accomplish this by soliciting, collecting, rescuing, growing, preparing and packaging food for distribution through a network of 157 social service agencies and programs; through public awareness, education and community advocacy; and through programs designed to improve the ability of low-income individuals to maintain an adequate supply of wholesome, nutritious food.

These programs include emergency food boxes, shelters, meal sites, rehabilitation facilities, nutrition education, gleaning and community gardens.

We serve a diverse population of people living on
limited incomes including children, families, seniors
and single adults.
