This August in Chicago, delegates from AFSCME locals, councils and retiree chapters across the nation will join together for a week of debate, networking, skills learning, political action and other activities.

Pre-Registration & Housing and Hotel Booking FAQ
- Selecting "third party billing" on your pre-registration form will bill Oregon AFSCME for your lodging, after which we will charge your local as applicable.
- Our delegation is staying at the Hyatt Regency on Wacker Drive. The nightly room rate is $280.58-$327.54, depending on occupancy.
- Oregon AFSCME is assigned lodging arrangements by the IU. You will not be able to book or change your room through the hotel; you must contact [email protected] to do so.
- Transportation to/from the hotel and convention center will be on accessible buses provided by the International Union. These buses will leave our hotel every 10-20 minutes. A more detailed schedule will be available in the Convention App.

Other transportation info can be found here. Public transit is abundant and efficient in Chicago. Taking the Blue Line "L" from O'Hare to the hotel for example, takes 45 minutes and costs $5. It drops you off a 15 minute walk from the hotel. Get off at Clark/Lake or Washington. You can also take a cab or use rideshare from Clark/Lake or Washington to the hotel. Using a rideshare app or cab from O'Hare to the hotel will be roughly $50 plus tip and take the same amount of time.

- All delegates and alternates are eligible to take the group flight.
- We will do our best to accommodate seat requests but they are not guaranteed.
- Please note that the Alaska mobile application and mobile website do not support group reservations. Your boarding pass can be printed 24 hours prior to your scheduled departure. Then check baggage at any Alaska Airlines baggage check location and proceed to the boarding gate. Guests can use their ticket number or confirmation code for online check-in.
- AFSCME International has also contracted with Delta, Southwest, and United to offer discounted rates which are less than the group flight as of 6/10/26.
